Here’s a list of some breweries in Utah that I’ve visited and what I think about them. One thing to note is that the law does not allow them to serve beer on tap over 4% ABV, which I found made a lot of the beers taste too similar… or maybe it was a mental thing. Who knows! Either way, they had a lot to choose from!

Brewery Reviews
Salt Lake City
- Proper Brewing Company:
- About the Space:
- Nice modern taproom with ample seating throughout. They are connected to Proper Burger Co. to offer you some grub when you get hungry.
- About the Beer:
- Quite a wide range of beers to choose from. Many of them were average, but I enjoyed the Tropikolsch (Kolsch) and Sassy Molassy Porter.
- About the Space:
- Red Rock Brewing Company:
- About the Space:
- Stereotypical chain-y feeling brewpub with American food.
- About the Beer:
- The beer felt uninspired, and the chain type restaurant atmosphere didn’t help. I had the Special Bitter and Gypsy Scratch, both of which were average.
- About the Space:
- Uinta Brewing Company:
- About the Space:
- Huge taproom / brewpub that also has a store. They offer tours, which I really enjoyed. They are one of the most popular breweries in the area, and for good reason!
- About the Beer:
- Wide selection of beers and styles, so they will have something for everyone. They don’t do flights (Utah law), but offer 4 oz tastings for cheap at two a time. I liked their Golden Spike Hefeweizen and Labyrinth Black Ale.
