Brewery Reviews

Boston

  1. Aeronaut Brewing Company:
    • About the Space:
      • You’re sitting in the brewery, so it has a cool vibe. Plenty of seating and they even have retro games!
    • About the Beer:
      • Nothing really stood out as too impressive to me. I more enjoyed the space. Their “King Louie” imperial IPA was decent.
  2. Cambridge Brewing Company:
    • About the Space:
      • Gastropub with a decent offering of food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Felt somewhat touristy to me.
    • About the Beer:
      • They have a good selection of beers, and they all are pretty good. I enjoyed their imperial IPA called “The Cure”.
  3. Harpoon Brewery and Beer Hall:
    • About the Space:
      • Huge brewery and bierhall, plus they serve giant pretzels. They are definitely catering to tourists do to their popularity. Either way, this place is a lot of fun!
    • About the Beer:
      • Lots of styles to choose from and they have a preset beer flight menu. I liked their Camp Wannamango pale ale the best.
  4. Samuel Adams:
    • About the Space:
      • The original brewery for them, which now they only brew specialty and experimental beers there. Now this is just for show, but the tour is interesting and the grounds are really cool to see. Worth the admission to go once.
    • About the Beer:
      • You get a beer tasting after the tour, where you get to sample around 3 different beers – the Boston Lager and a couple others. Tip: Try to sit at a table with families, since they serve you pitchers of beer. That way you get more beer because less people will be drinking it!
  5. Somerville Brewing Company:
    • About the Space:
      • Really cool space that has communal tables and bar snacks. Loved the ambiance at night.
    • About the Beer:
      • They have quite a wide range of beers on tap, most of them were very good. I really enjoyed their gose (Gose the Destroyer) and black IPA (Slumbrew Naked Hopularity). Really can’t go wrong with any brew at this place. Highly recommend!
