Thailand

For how many tourists flock to Thailand, I am shocked the craft beer scene hasn’t taken off here. You can occasionally find some good beer in convenience and grocery stores, but there really aren’t any good breweries anywhere. This means you can expect a lot of the same old lager style beer from the same macro breweries throughout the country. Boring…

Brewery Reviews

Chiang Mai

  1. Chiang Mai Brewing Company:
    • About the Space:
      • They don’t have a taproom, so you can only find their beer in bottles.
    • About the Beer:
      • Some of the best craft beer in all of Thailand. They only have a few styles and can be hard to find, but definitely worth it if you can find one. Try the Weizen Hefeweizen.

Koh Samui

  1. Bees Knees Brewpub:
    • About the Space:
      • Nice location overall, as the entire space is the brewery. They only have bar snacks, so eat before you come. It was a little bit of a walk from the center of Koh Samui though, so be prepared!
    • About the Beer:
      • I did not like any of their beers since they were all English style ales. That being said, this was a nice break from the macro brewed lagers.
